Short Information :The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Ranchi has released the notification for Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JHTET) 2026. The online application process will start from 21 April 2026 and continue till 21 May 2026.Interested candidates are advised to read the official notification carefully and apply online within the given dates.

Education Qualification Detalis:
- Primary Levels Teachers (Class-1 to 5) :- Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) with at least 50% marks (or 45% as per NCTE rules) along with or appearing in a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (BTC/D.El.Ed), or a 4-year B.El.Ed, or a 2-year Diploma in Special Education. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and pursuing or completed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education are also eligible.
- Junior Levels Teachers (Class-6 to 8) :- Candidates must meet any one of the following qualifications: a Bachelor’s degree along with or appearing in a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (BTC/D.El.Ed); or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% (or 45% as per NCTE rules) and B.Ed/L.T./Shiksha Shastri; or 10+2 with at least 50% and a 4-year B.El.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed; or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% and B.Ed in Special Education; or a Master’s degree with 55% marks and a 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed course.

📘 Examination Pattern & Structure
The Eligibility Test will be conducted at two levels, namely:
- Primary Level (Level–1): For Classes 1 to 5
- Upper Primary Level (Level–2): For Classes 6 to 8
Candidates have the option to appear for either one level or both levels as per their eligibility and preference.
Each level will consist of a single composite question paper. The duration of the examination for each level is as follows:
- Primary Level (Classes 1 to 5): 2 hours 30 minutes
- Upper Primary Level (Classes 6 to 8): 2 hours 30 minutes
- For Visually Impaired (PwD) Candidates: An additional 30 minutes will be provided as compensatory time.
